I get the feeling that you are trying to make Ryan Moore out to be some sort of anti-yardage throwback hero.
As a producer of yardage books, I take a dim view of this.
This article says that Ryan Moore uses a yardage book to know the distance to the front of the green and a pin sheet to know how far from there.
In my opinion this hardly differentiates him from other tournament golfers.
