Hawkins Blog Takes A Shot

After this post, I don't think Golf World's John Hawkins and SI's Alan Shipnuck will be sharing a pimento cheese sandwich this week.

Nuck took a random swipe at golfworld in his piece. I'm more of a van sickle guy.

Seems like Hawkins went crazy over nothing, or perhaps is a bit defensive about how his Master story stacks up against Shipnuck's. Here's what was actually said about the LPGA and GW:

If I'm an LPGA fan, should I cancel my subscription to GolfWorld? There are many reasons to cancel that subscription, but the lack of LPGA coverage is no longer one of them. The LPGA's misguided power play over media rights compelled GolfWorld to boycott its coverage of the Tour, but all the issues have been resolved, and the magazine will resume its LPGA reporting this week.

There is no suggestion of cancelling anything, as Shipnuck notes that the issue has been resolved.

Is pretty snarky I think. I enjoy golfworld and I like SI's more mainstream golf plus.

I just don't see why shipnuck put a line like that in.
