The Power Of The Swoosh?

What do these logos have in common? Why, it's a forward or upward moving swooshy kind of solid line. Can our graphics experts please fill us in if this is synonymous with a brand that's moving forward? Or just the same person designing logos for the PGA and LPGA Tour?

The earliest use of a swooshie thingy was in Ameritech's logo, by my recollection. So it first made its debut in golf in 1989, when Ameritech founded the Ameritech Senior Open.

No, the earliest swoosh was Nike. Still the best-looking one.

It strikes me that red, blue, yellow, and green are the colors of both the WGC and the LPGA logo. They're the same in both number and color. Gotta mean something.

Do they signify anything like the four tours or anything like that? That makes sense for the WGC but obviously not the LPGA Tour. Hmmm.
