Newsflash: TPC Clubhouse To Open!
Golf Channel's Brian Hewitt scores a major exclusive by finding out when they'll be dedicating the TPC SawgrassThe Players Stadium course clubhouse:
Sources at The TOUR confirmed today they have scheduled the dedication for the new 70,000 square foot, $32 million clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass for the Tuesday before next month’s PLAYERS Championship.
Uh, $32 million? Oh I think we have our first question for the commissioner!
In this 2005 Ryan Herrington item from Golf World, the tab was penciled in at $16-18 million
Hey, it's not our money!

I believe it should stay at the present 4, but if there ever becomes a 5th, it should be played elsewhere in the world.
Starring Commissioner Tim Finchem, costarring Ron Price, with special guest appearances Bob Combs, Ed Moorehouse, Ty Votaw, and special celebrity guest appearance PriceWaterHouseCoopers
Clue to this slapstick-drama, which two cosigned the $32 MD check?
Bob what time you taking your lunch break? Around 2!, don't make me get up out of this chair, just say later this afternoon! Get with the program Bob.
There's an immigration crisis in America today and the only guy in the maintenance department speaking any english at these TPC golf courses is the superintendent.
Comprende, amigos?
How many chandeliers is this clubhouse for the rich and shameless sporting? The next thing we'll be reading about are the gold plated toilet seats, the imported marble because the PGA TOUR is now the World's Tour, and because we know Finchem smells of tobacco, sorry not the scent of Remy Latour Cigar, but the real stuff. Yeah that's right, Finchem just got back from the tobacco growers convention in Las Vegas to start another PGA TOUR Brand, PGA TOUR Cigars. This should fit the platform beautifully, little PGA TOUR Wine, beautifully constructed PGA TOUR Cigar, kicking back on the big front porch (bigger than any Cracker Barrel front porch) for everyone to see, with the illegal immigrants toiling the land. Who says today can't be just like the good ole days?
Most of us will never see the inside of this clubhouse, but if we could just get a peek inside the kitchen I think we'd have the full appreciation of Tim Finchem's aspiration, bon-appetite everyone, and I'm not referring to Jeff Smith, the "Frugal Gourmet" tv chef.
Polo anyone?
