The New Adventures of New Christine

The L.A. Times's Mike Penner has covered his share of golf and has been inexcusably passed over as a columnist. And his latest and last column is something you don't read everyday in a major newspaper...

I hope it makes him happy.

Good on ya!

The only freudian aspect was the use of "it's" referring to Mike when Christine takes over.

Forgive my ignorance (those who know me understand)...

Do women ever transgender to men?

Best wishes to Christine in her new life. I can't understand what Mike's gone through, but I hope it works out for the best!

"The only freudian aspect was the use of "it's" referring to Mike when Christine takes over."

The "its" referred to the byline, not to Mike. So nothing Freudian here at all.

I too say good on ya, Mike, soon to become Christine. Making this decision, going through with it, going public with it takes guts that few can imagine.

Good luck to Mike/Christine.

What's with the: "Mike Penner" is out, "Christine Daniels" soon will be taking its place."

Does he have to go and change his last name too?

Sounds like he's on a large Jack Daniel's bender, hope those Dr.'s do a BAT before the anesthesia is applied.

I was deeply moved by the courage and candor it took for Christine to do this and write this. The article was graceful and tinged with warm humor.

Best of luck. I look forward to reading the work sans writers block!

Again, testament to the power of words, thoughts, and ideas . . . these evoke in us what is the human spirit.
