Geoff,
Tough to tell from that photo but it doesn't match the popularized story on the hole's construction. Supposedly this entire area was one big hole in the ground from sand excavation and Mrs. Dye said fill it with water and stick an island out there. Cute story but where's the huge hole in the ground?
