R&A Releases Padraig Pace of Play Video; Sergio Manners Set For '09 Release

Thanks to reader Chris for forcing me to not ignore the R&A press release on their new Padraig Harrington helmed etiquette videos, which include a pace of play segment from Europe's answer to Ben Crane.

Good on Padraig and the R&A for producing this little piece. So many of us take these things for granted, but equally, so many seem to be oblivious or uninformed of courtesy on the course.

I plan to use Harrington video clip in my golf camp next week. I used the new USGA one, The Spirit Of The Game II, last week and it put the kids to sleep. The old USGA one had Nick Price and Ernie Els kidding around with Bill Russell, Fluff Cowan joking around, and Peter Jacobsen, I believe. The new one is bland. I love hearing Padraig pronounce his name the Irish way (PO-rig).

Po-rig or as he's more affectionately known....Porridge.

Excellent start. The USGA needs to do one. The accent is bit too thick for American(s) (kids). Surely, they're the ones who need it the most.

Surely the R & A could have found a better poster boy for pace of play than Harrington?

A "new" dull USGA video...imagine that. The vast majority of American golfers should have something like that as required viewing. Our average player is often wanting when it comes to basics that many overseas learn as toddlers on the golf course. As to Harrington... he certainly isn't a slow player!

Slow play? They need to feel the lash now and then.
