Should be repaired by now...

Geoff, you must be relieved that Sutherland didn't win, because then you wouldn't have been able to complain anymore that upsets and Cinderella stories can't happen in these "playoffs". The guy has four top-tens this season, but would have shot straight to #1 if he had won.
The reason that upsets in the FedEx Cup aren't likely to happen doesn't have anything to do with a flawed points structure, it's just the simple fact that players who loiter around #100 in the rankings very seldom win tournaments where most of the top 10 players enter. Tiger had two wins and a second in the "playoffs" last year - is it the points system's fault that a lower-ranked player didn't pull off an upset???

Hawkeye,
You assume I cared enough to watch!

I would love to see someone like Sutherland get hot, and play another solid two weeks, get in East Lake and have a clean shot at the $10 million. I think it'd be fun and more exciting than what they have now.

Sutherland butchered the final hole and a half, and therefore he didn't win, and therefore he didn't reach the #1 spot. That's Kevin Sutherland's own fault, not the point system's. You can't expect somebody to have a chance to win 10 million if he doesn't win, can you?
And you don't fool me, of course you were curious enough about Ridgewood to watch it!
