Today's U.S. Open Ticket Special...

...gives the impression that a lot of tickets are still available, and at $425 for the week and $110 for the weekend along with no cheap hotels anywhere nearby, I'm guessing the divot tool they're throwing in for the holidays isn't going to lead to server-crashing demand.

Good job USGA, you actually made it clear about the policy with respect to rainchecks.

Even before we really knew the weather, tickets were EVERYWHERE for Bethpage...

...I went three days for a grand total out of pocket cost of $20.

Two of the three days I had 2 tickets and took a friend.

Be patient and I doubt you have to pay much to attend in 2010 either.

Farmingdale---Only if you don't plan on staying in the area. The price gouging is in full bloom.

CP, yes, I was just referring to the price of a ticket. I would guess the lack of lodging close by would only drive down ticket prices even more as getting to and from sounds like it's going to be a bit of hassle.

If I'm not mistaken corporate tent count at BP was down almost 50% and a number of the tents that did go up basically went unused. Pebble will probably be the same way if not worse, thereby creating a ton of ticket supply...

Farmingdale---I think you're right on the tickets.
Apparently, corporate tent sales are at around 67% of the goal.

HD at home is a better deal.

Golf continues to lose its attractiveness. See LA Times article.
