Addressing one of the larger elephants in the room ... pre-press and production is gone. What happens with the editorial dpt.? Former ed staff or new staff? Contracted contributors or some magical combination of all of the above?

Must say getting a request to subscribe anew after not receiving the full subscription before the mag folded leaves me scratching my head and sort of cold. Not sure I would want to subscribe without knowing what I am getting in return.

(Plus I can just visit Tom's site: http://out-and-back.net/ He added a forum recently. Show some love, People. ;) )

I used to get this wonderful magazine but I don't recall needing to log in with my subscriber number to access any of the online content. Interesting that they are seeking $ to subscribe.

I thought you could sell advertising based upon how many people were registered for a free site and by the number of viewers or hits???

Much as my left wing (who knew?!) self hates to admit it, T+L Golf was a favorite. Can't see paying for it as online-only though. That misses the point of a glossy magazine with interesting photographs and the occasionally interesting article by about a mile. The Faldo feature was even useful in some issues. And who could have imagined that?
NICE ! Glad they're back. I couldn't do many of the things they wrote about - but the photography was nothing short of gorgeous in every issue.

This just seems cynical to me, especially to ask for a subscription. If magazines had based their models on subscriptions in the first place-- actually getting readers to pay for a magazine because they loved it, rather than relying on advertisers to pay upwards of $30,000 a page-- print media wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. Magazines ignored readers for years in favor of catering to advertisers, and now those advertisers have left the building. Now that readers have so many other choices on the Internet why would they pay for this one?

One man's opinion-- and not a neutral opinion either, as I'm the managing partner of the new Golf Media Network-- come visit our sites at theAposition.com. By the way-- we love Geoff Shackelford!
