"Sharply Divided"

My Golf World story on the Sharp Park saga has been posted at GolfDigest.com. I'll take a closer look next week when the Open is behind us. But in the meantime, would love to hear your thoughts.

Geoff:

Great article and history. An entire book could be written on this. I'm a little surprised there was no mention of Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi who is leading the charge to close the course from the SF board of supervisors point of view.

Way too balanced a presentation of the issues there Geoff. Now both sides (or, perhaps all sides as it seems there may well be a wide range of agendas here) will have ammunition to criticize. . .

I have been following this since Dec 2007 after speaking with Dave Diller. I alerted Geoff to this tragic circumstance because I though a well written piece would bring reason to this situation. Glad to see that it will finally get some deserved national attention. Maybe the Presidents Cup later this year will help put golf in a positive view in the minds of the locals in San Fran. And for the record the only course losing money in San Fran muni system is Harding Park!

Great article, Geoff. Thanks for bringing more national media attention to the problems at Sharp.
