If You Squint Hard Enough, You Can See The Ad...

..thanks to reader Tim for this Gizmodo post on one of the worst ideas I've seen a sport that seems to its fair share.

Trippy. Kind of a 1 watt, lilliputian version of a Blade Runner sort of future.

I'm fine with this exotically and fantastically horrible idea, just as long as one of the LCD's can alos be mounted on Steve Williams' caddy vest.

This is ridiculous.

Actually, I could see that as quite useful. Phil could get one and use to play DVDs about how not to play a jackass on the back nine in majors.

Well nice idea, BUT in media planning what really matters is the "reach" (how many people can we reach/find with our ads). In this case, this is nothing more than "nice gadget" with low utility. People when playing golf they do not pay attention to this they focus on game and their swing. Not to mention the "recall" factor. There are many golf accessories that can grab someone's attention much better than this. Personally, I prefer to use social media (for details: www.golfbusinessmonitor.typepad.com).
