PGA Tour Names The 16 Players Most Capable Of Forming A Cogent Thought

I was too busy this week to notice that the 2010 Player Advisory Council was named. Here they are, the PGA Tour players most likely to be labeled "Subversive" on some PGA Tour VP's office whiteboard:

The 16-man PAC is comprised of Rich Beem, Jonathan Byrd, Steve Flesch, Harrison Frazar, Jim Furyk, Jeff Gove, Paul Goydos, Jerry Kelly, Scott McCarron, Joe Ogilvie, Sean O’Hair, Brett Quigley, Steve Stricker, Kevin Streelman, Mike Weir and Mark Wilson.

The PAC advises and consults with the PGA TOUR Policy Board and the Commissioner on matters affecting PGA TOUR members.

Lots of nice guys. . . No bomb throwers in the crowd . . . Except Goydos?

Well if we learned anything in 2009, it is that the Player Advisory Council is not such a big deal, and that the select players who occupy the four Player-Director seats on the Tour Policy Board are the real important voices.

In 2009, the four Player-Directors were: Stewart Cink, Brad Faxon, Zach Johnson and David Toms.

Any change in the four Player-Directors for 2010? Faxon's barely got a card anymore, although Titleist still has a proxy vote in the form of Zach Johnson.

Ogilvie has always struck me as a blowhard. Most of the choices seem like thoughtful (by Tour standards) and not cookie cutter types. Lots of grinders.

The list lost me at the words"Rich" and "Beem." Unfortunately, he was first on the list.
