Thanks to reader Kevin for the head's up on Tom Vlach's TPC Sawgrass maintenance blog. Of particular interest are the images of the course just two months ago versus this week.

What kind of green fee rate do they charge for those "before" conditions??

Hell of a three week turn around. The Winter here in Jax was brutal. Thirty plus freezes and countless frost delays. With the demands to provide certain heights of cut combined with resort play, its hard to keep the grass where it belongs. The golfers walk it right off the course. Besides #'s 2, 6, and 17, the turf held up pretty well. I'd hear what Jerry Kelly would have done differently.

They did not lower the green fees at all. If you have a caddy, it was $500.00...played twice in March and the club was charging full freight, it was full, and the conditions were horrible. Had played Ocean Forest a month earlier and the dormant zoysia was wonderful and the greens rolled beautifully.
