Poulter's Graceful Fall

Lawrence Donegan reports on Ian Poulter's match play win Sunday without dwelling on Poulter's scary fall after attempting a recovery shot.

If only the spikes worked as advertised . . . :)

Congrats to Poults - he gets so much flak but really got it done at the Matchplay. His putting was filthy.
You have to hand it to Poulter ... he's a terrific competitor at match play. I just wish I didn't have the lingering suspicion that this whole incident was dragged on and on for many unnecessary minutes to disrupt Donald's (who was in a comfort zone at the time) rhythm. I don 't think Poulter fell deliberately and he certainly made nothing of it. A professional soccer player would have needed to be hospitalized after that, and would have demanded his opponent's disqualification!

I love the 16 second mark....

IJP: "Bullocks! I can't believe I've just bloody well done this...."

IJP Caddie: "What are you talking about, Mate? That was a great shot!"

IJP: "No, you twit... I'm talking about soiling the ass of my new IJP Design Euro Tour 4000 Performance Golf slacks. Quick, grab a towel and help me wipe my ass. How bad is it?"

IJP Caddie: "Remember back in 2003 when you were making fun of Craig Stadler's swamp ass?"

IJP: "That's not funny in the least...."

You don't know ''the rest of the story''....

IP LOST his kazillion dollar ball marker, the one that fell on the ball in Asia, and cost him the tournament.

An official went back to the scene of the fall when IP and LD were another hole or 3 down the road, and a camera was on the offical.....meanwhile, a replay from another angle showed * the ball marker actually falling out of IP's pocket!!!*
but before the TV guys got to tell the official, he found the marker. Now maybe he had seen a tape in the truck before he went out and looked .....

Pretty darn cool, at any rate..

Man, IP putted GREAT in ASIA, and won a couple, the went on a putting diet, and now maybe he is getting it going again..... just in time for the US open or the Open, the Memoralble or ????

I like Poults, I think he's good for the game, and has a good sense of self deprecation. Go Ian. Keep those wannabe ''ones'' under yer thumb! Oh wait...I guess Westy is actually the real ''one''.
