Betting is a mugs game-which is why I put £50 each way on Tiger at nines back in November!

That's a solid play. The question, I think, with your play is: Is there a 33% chance TW makes it into the top 5 at the Masters? I would say yes. I've made bank I think 3 times since TW's incident in 2009 with eachway plays in Majors. 2010 Augusta was particularly juicy, lol.

There's some UK-based folks that you may want to get in touch with for some golf-related info .. let me know if interested.
8-1 on Rory is no value at all though ... I'm not convinced he's learned enough about Augusta National to be a consistent contender. This year will likely provide some insight.
For me, Luke Donald is the attractive choice - he will win a major someday and he has some strong finishes at Augusta.

Good grief at the Fowler hype.

lol @ Phil third favorite ... and Kaymer hates the place. Watney might be good value, or Scott with Stevie's years of experience there. TW top 5 is a near certainty given he finished 4th there with no kind of reliable swing the past two years

@AK47 -

Nice eye on Watney. Scott would be good value right NOW, but not in a few weeks (since he's likely to finish highly soon).

KJ Choi is my pick @ 50.
CTL, I wasn't a big believer in Watney but he's converted me. He took down Norman's best player, KJ, at the Pres Cup when Couples needed that point badly and his short game/putting has really gotten sharp. Not a real high ball hitter, which might count against him at ANGC but he hits it long, and that won't hurt. Scott's had 2 months off to go surfing so he'll be fresh. Comes back @ Riviera. You are right, jump on him now though, as always, anyone with a long putter scares me at that place ... not like they've got anywhere to go after that.

HAHHAHAHAHAHA - a long putter winning at Augusta??! Perish the thought. :)

Humor aside though - has anybody gotten close with a broomstick there? The 3-6 footers would be the ones that would be iffy, in my opinion. Just wondering if some of the more learned folks on here have some historical info to pass along.
Scott t-2 last year with broomstick. Bernhard didn't win with one there but may've contended. Important to distinguish between young kids who are using longer putters simply cos they putt better and bad putters who go to them as last resort.

It helps Tiger's odds that Robert Rock is NOT INVITED to the Masters at this point.

I totally forgot about Scott.
Jason Day at 30 - 1 is the best bet, I also like Luke Donald at 20 - 1. How a guy who has not won a significant tournament in three years the favourite is beyond me.

I wonder what are the odds for Tiger against the rest of the field.
02.1.2012 | Unregistered CommenterNubi
Jason Day @ 30 is decent ... I would not call it the "best bet" though, but I guess that's personal opinion, lol.
If any of you Americans need/want to get something going on these tournaments (and you don't live in Vegas) - please let me know.
Jason Day is 4 times more over-rated than I was.

you saying he's a choke-apotamus like you charlie three sticks?
02.1.2012 | Unregistered CommenterAK47
Yes, but worse.
02.1.2012 | Unregistered CommenterCH3
I will give you 30?1 on Tiger. I need a new car and what an easy way to finance it.
02.2.2012 | Unregistered Commenterdave
Tiger is going to win by 12 strokes!

Didn't you hear? He is going to start dominating again!
02.2.2012 | Unregistered CommenterKoolaid Kid
What makes you say that, Three Sticks, the fact that he hit it in the water on his approach to seal his only tour win (after that noted closer Blake Adams followed him in the water), or the fact that he shot 42 on the front nine of his singles match at the Presidents Cup?
02.2.2012 | Unregistered CommenterAK47
Or that the guy is just 24 and has more talent than most of you commenters have in your big toe.

Does that make any sense at all?
