Will Turkey Final Cash Grabbers Be Making Mandatory Frys.com Open Appearances In The Very Near Future?

Since this Turkey World "Final" was announced on short notice way back in July, I've been impressed how quickly players like Tiger transitioned from a possible Frys.com Open appearance to an overseas event requiring a PGA Tour release.

It sounds like the behind-closed-doors dealmaking has wrapped and Commissioner Anything For Tiger swung a deal, says John Huggan, who shares more about the 8-man, $5.2 million event starting Tuesday.

All eight have apparently undertaken to appear at least once over the next three years in the Frys.com Open, which (surprise, surprise) is taking place in California this week. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem, as ever, has minimized the damage to his schedule and made the best of a situation where money was talking -- the eighth and last player here will collect $300,000, with the winner picking up $1.5 million -- and he was doomed to inevitable defeat.

Got to hand it to the Commish, he and the Oxford shirt brigade take a tricky situation and turn it into a positive, landing some huge draws (along with Charl Schwartzel), for the Frys.com event when it becomes the kick-off tournament to the PGA Tour's 2013 calendar year schedule.
