State Of The Game Podcast, Episode 4: Greg Turner

After a week off, episode four of State of the Game covers our favorite topic, golf architecture, with hosts Rod Morri and Mike Clayton quizzing the always fascinating former touring professional-turned-golf course architect Greg Turner, who joined in via Skype from his New Zealand home.

Turner was a member of the only international team to win the President's Cup at Royal Melbourne in 1998 and is one of the more articulate members of the golf fraternity. Topics include the joys of the short par-4; why the game would be better if the concept of par was done away with, why professional golf is not as interesting to watch as it should be, the game in New Zealand, education as part of the course designer's role and why cheaper golf is often better golf.

As always there are a number of ways to listen: through the show page, the RSS Feed, iTunes (for episode four) and through subscribing via the iTunes store. Or you can listen through the player embedded below. And it's completely free.
