World Golf Hall Of Fame Speeches, In Their Entirety

In this week's Golf World, I wrote about the overall progress of the World Golf Hall Of Fame as a landmark in the game while offering a few suggestions to improve it.

As promised in the column, the unedited speeches are now online courtesy of PGA Tour Productions. Peter Alliss' right hand is still a melted knob, but everything else you'll want to hear is included.

Dan Jenkins

Sandy Lyle

Peter Alliss

Hollis Stacy

Phil Mickelson

I certainly wouldn't like my knob melted, but maybe at Mr Allis's age it doesn't matter too much.

Wonderful stuff. I am guessing the introduction speeches are not available? I would enjoy Renton Laidlaw's intro to Sandy Lyle.

They do not appear to be online and it's a shame. All five were great intros with really classy production values from PGA Tour Productions. They meticulously dug up old footage and shot the display cases for the inductees, then matched it with the words of those introducing the inductees.

I doubt there's been a better speech than Peter Alliss' since MacArthur's "old soldiers" farewell address. Only someone with his style and inherent class could pull off that ending.
If I ever had to be stuck in an elevator with three TV guys, it'd be Peter, Keith Jackson, and Cliff Drysdale.

@Willie---Charlie Sifford's acceptance speech was excellent in 2004....
