Budding Bromance: Branden Grace Unabashedly Declares For Tiger

The quote in Randall Mell's item on Grace's third day in a row paired with Tiger reads like Grace is being held at gun point...and no I looked, he's not represented by Steiny. Yet.

“I hadn’t played with him before, but now, to have played with him three days in a row, has been unreal,” Grace said. “I've learned a hell of a lot from playing with him. The way he plays shots, the way he handles himself and things like that, has been great.  He's there because he is the best in the world. I've seen it now, and I think people really criticize him, that is wrong.  He's one hell of a guy, and he's pretty much the nicest guy I've ever played with.”

There is something wrong if Tiger is this agreeable to play with. Mercifully, they are not paired together again tomorrow.

I thought he was extremely nice in his 2nd round recap to the writers.
Hold me, I'm scared!

Hole in Three, Branden Grace is your boy, right? HAHAHAHA!!!

I saw Tiger pick up a few of Grace's divots and walk back and get them to Grace and his caddie. I never saw old Tiger do that.

@Delusional Tiger Fanboy

My picks are designed to maximize profits. I could not care less about what players say.

My picks are not designed to satisfy stunted-growth induced fantasies built around sporting idols.

Tiger by five at the PGA?

If there were a million of you, the Nevada economy would be back on its feet.

at least somebody likes tiger

The fact is that most PGA players like Tiger a lot.
The press may not feel the same because of his responses to their many stupid questions.
In private Tiger is very likeable.

Yeah those Rory and Grace picks worked out real for you. Whadya say we head over to that other thread and hash it out? You got it in you?

DTF, I already gave u my PGA Chmp picks based on Ladbrooks last week.

That's not enough for u? What else is on ur agenda? Feeling a little insecure? Something else bothering u?

Knew you didn't have it in you...

As previously noted, you can't even properly spell Ladbrokes, absolutely no possible way you could mount a successful wagering strategy with them. Especially with you relying on the simulator and your volatility theory, and the ascendancy/decline theory, and the small investor theory....LMAO. Hey, how's John Chambers? You guy make a lot of cold calls last week? Any new accounts?

Todd Hamilton wins the PGA next week, book it.

"bromance"? come on, you can hate a little better than that...

WAY more importantly, you could have been quoting any number of younger players that have said the same about tiger recently and some not so recently...

dustin/bubba have both talked ad nauseam about learning alot playing with tiger

"The fact is that most PGA players like Tiger a lot."
That is absolutely not fact.
In actuality, almost no PGA tour players spend any time at all with Tiger, and if being honest most would offer no opinion at all as to whether they "liked" Tiger or not. They are not going to say outright to the media that they dislike Tiger, there is no upside for doing something like that, but most wouldn't have a clue whether they "like" Tiger as a person or not.

"In private Tiger is very likeable."
Wrong. As I have said before, I have first-hand knowledge about this. Tiger probably isn't the devil incarnate that some people would have you believe, but likeable is not how people who spend a bit of time with him describe him.

And if he was considered likable by some players, are they wrong?
08.5.2012 | Unregistered Commenterfwiw
fwiw, of course they are, get with the plan dude! These Tim Clark like players who bunt lasers, wield the long putter with aplomb, and are destined to dominate golf and the majors going forward, well, they just do not know what's good for them. And they certainly can't think for themselves. So, if one of them mistakenly concludes that You Know Who is a good guy, well, they just have to be slapped down and made to understand that this sort of opinion just cannot be tolerated! The sooner the golfing riff raff comprehend that You Know Who is public enemy #1, the better everyone will be. (oh, he's also #1 in money, #1 on Ryder Cup list, #1 on FedEx, #1 OWGR, etc...but he's washed up, never win again)

Press Agent - what you say is very much confirmed in the Haney book. Woods opens up to no one. JC

Press Agent,

Try this excerpt from a PGA players poll.

In a way, this is surprising. It's not surpring that Woods is popular among his peers. Excepting Vijay Singh and his little buddy Tom Pernice (Batman and Robin), just about everyone likes Tiger. It's surprising, though, because Woods is so intensely focused during his rounds, can be very slow on the greens, expresses anger with ease (and foul language) after bad shots, and draws tremendous crowds and attention.

On the other hand, he draws tremendous crowds and attention. Playing with Tiger ensures that you'll be getting plenty of attention and TV time, too (for good or ill). But what it boils down to is probably this: Woods is simply well-liked, and who doesn't want to share the stage with the greatest golfer who ever lived?

In the most-popular playing partner poll, Phil Mickelson didn't receive a single vote. In the least-popular playing partner poll, Tiger Woods didn't receive a single vote

@press agent I think you are confusing a few things. Is Tiger a good guy to play with? By all indications and polls yes, he's respectful of his playing partners and treats them friendly. Is he a fun guy to hang with in the team room at Ryder and Presidents Cups? Again, by all indications of other teammates yes, he is definitely a man's man who likes to talk trash and probably can tell a decent dirty joke. Do others on Tour hang out with Tiger at Outback or TGIF's during tourney week then head back to the house they rented together and watch SportsCenter? NO. But besides for the holy rollers that gather for scripture together and play guitar while talking about how blessed they are, nobody is hangin' like that. I have a good buddy that travels the Tour for an equipment manufacturer and the truth is Tiger is NEVER around, anywhere. But again, the guys genuinely like him when they are around him. Stop the hate fest.

Big John and Stanley, come on now fellas, get with the plan will ya?!? There's just no reason to let facts get in the way of a good story (or hate fest for that matter)....
