Tour Championship Third Round Open Comment Thread

What is there to say? Oh I know...over/under on first Steve Sands session with the RussertBoard to tell us of a scenario that might happen, only to have that scenario wiped out by a birdie by the 10th place player?

Golf Channel has early coverage until 2 p.m. ET, then NBC picks up the coverage.

I'll go with 2:17 ET as the over/under. Place your bets!

Tee times.

Live online coverage here.

Heading off to Georgia Tech–Miami, but before I go: Elf the Brave, what happened to you-know-who yesterday? Was too busy to keep the window open on my computer and need a report.

I like the new "reset cup" logo Geoff lol...and I hope you're going to keep receiving press passes from the folks in PV.

Lee Westwood might want to rethink putting the house in Worksop on the market. On the other hand, he is IN The Tour Championship, without being a PGA Tour member, so I suppose that means something.

Snedeker in the frame for all the lolly here?

Yer right there Ghillie. What is going on? Just how did he earn the right to be included in this multi-million dollar end of season bonanza? Why the hell is this now erstwhile confirmed europhile upping sticks and moving lock, stock and barrel to the USA?

And ... where the hell is Chubby?

Surely it couldn't just be down to a tax thing ... could it?

What an idiot!
Who, Chubby or Lee-Lee? The latter declared his intent to do a couple of seasons in the US to give himself a better shot at learning US courses etc., and being better prepared for the US-based majors. I don't imagine it is to do with tax. You haven't been reading Manos' posts as if they made sense, have you?

I assume he is there because of some results noted by both Tours and adequate performance in the "playoffs."

Where indeed is CHubby? Amazingly silent of late.

Don't you mean Manos the wum Ghillie?

I just thought the whole american tour play-off thing was pretty much a closed shop thing.

Westy is completely delusional if he thinks he can magic up some majors in the USA at the bleedin' age of 39!

Incidentally, I was given to believe Westy's move was a great deal more permanent that you seem to be suggesting. If he's really only going to just give it a couple of seasons and it doesn't work out, then what? More to the point, how will this state of flux affect his children's education? He's got pots of money. Send the eldest (a boy) to a top english boarding school. His daughter is still young enough to cope with different education systems and a change back to an english system wouldn't, in the short term, be so damaging.
Westwood IS a PGA Tour member. He rejoined before this season started.

Furyk is doing a Furyk...so as I predicted, he's RC ready (dripping with sarcasm)

Digs, agreed w/you entirely on the Furyk pick...what was with the drop? Not wanting to see more FedEx explanations (is that bs or what?) I didn't watch Golf Central, did anyone ask him?

The key to Furyk's RC success will be ending matching before they get to the 16th hole..

Tour champ used to exciting, now #boring
I wonder if Gary Van Sickle will interupt the trophy (s) ceremony with a protest they aren't doing his cumulative to par system?

BrianS,
I wish he would, today was embarrassing when they broke in for the second day in a row to tell us there could be a statistical tie and a playoff. This seems to be what they are really hoping for at this point because it would be two golfers, lowest score. So why not redo the format to actually make it about players and scores and not about algorithms?

LadyH-- I didn't watch either...is it me or is this event in slo~mo---- kind of a Konica Minolta Fed Ex Biz Hub Slo Mo all the time... some boring stuff.

Oh, and I think Furyk reteed from a pure and simple brian fart-- look for Fluff to be gone soon, as will the anchored bs.

Geoff- I could not belive it when Sands got out the 4th grade tools.....almost woke me up.

Living in the South I followed KLG's plan and went to a college football game, (mine was not as exciting as his though) I will watch today as I am one of the few people on the planet not addicted to NFL on TV. I am happy with NFL highlight shows until the playoffs...
@S&T: Exciting is one word for it. And as long as Al Groh has the Jackets playing that "wipey" defense there is more in store for us.

Digs, it's downright boring...will start watching Sun round soon but I doubt it will be better. Agree with Ghost of PM, I used to enjoy Tour Champ too but it's a snooze now.
