"I'm happy to be the face of The First Tee on Tour and if I can have a little bit of influence of kids, that's great."

Finally! Steve DiMeglio writes about Scott Langley becoming the first genuine First Tee grad to ascend to the PGA Tour.

This, despite the program not beingt a grow-the-game and golfer-creation initiative when he participated, before its rebirth as a grow-the-game, create golfers initiative.

Langley is proud to be the first First Tee participant to reach the PGA Tour.

"There's a synergy between golf and life that comes together at The First Tee," said Langley, 23. "I'm happy to be the face of The First Tee on Tour and if I can have a little bit of influence of kids, that's great. I was in their shoes not long ago, trying to pursue my dreams.

"The First Tee meant a lot to me. You learn how golf can help you learn things that will help you in life."

Langley is a real solid young man and a credit to his alma mater, the University of Illinois.
