“End of an era as Middle East falls out of love with Tiger Woods”

The Telegraph's James Corrigan reports that Tiger Woods can no longer expect a multi-million dollar appearance fees from organizers of the Abu Dhabi Championship or the Dubai Desert Classic.

Citing an unnamed source, Corrigan says it’s a combination of novelty wearing off, Rory and other players proving alluring.

“There are other players of big interest now, not least Rory McIlroy. In these market conditions, at those prices, Woods does not represent the value he once did. In fairness, he has been there a lot and the novelty has worn off.”

Of course this might provide Tiger with an opportunity to thank former President Bill Clinton for speaking at the Learning Center opening by appearing in the Clinton-hosted Humana Challenge! I know...
