San Diego's U.S. Open Deal Worth Over $4 Million

The San Diego City Council approved the 2021 U.S. Open for Torrey Pines in a rubber stamp procedure Monday night, reports Tod Leonard.

In their comments before the vote, City Council members lauded the improved financial deal the city received for the ’21 Open. The USGA will pay $2.5 million – five times the amount from 2008 -- to the Golf Enterprise Fund while sharing hospitality revenue that could produce $1.7 million in revenue for the General Fund.
