Some Site Photos

Here are a few glimpses of the canvas we have to work with. The soil is pretty sandy, the plant material beautiful and the arroyos a very exciting element to work with. The course is going to be designed to be walkable, with no long walks between greens and tees and the site not having excessive elevation change.  

Here's a view from the west looking over much of the property, particuarly the portion where the vegetation is most dense.

 

The arroyo will be a key component of the design, with a few holes playing over and beside it.

 

The arroyo is quite interesting and full of color and texture (below).

Below is the view of what may end up being a long par-3 over the arroyo to a greensite featuring a nice right to left slope funnelling balls toward the putting surface. The green would sit across the arroyo just to the right of the tall cactus.

 

Below is a view toward what will likely be the second hole green site, a longish par-4 playing over and next to the sandy arroyo, with beautiful ground features that we hope create an interesting option off the tee to gain distance by using the ground. 

 

Little washes like this appear all over the property, which should make the clearing process interesting. As you might expect, we will be trying to preserve and incorporate as much of the native environment as possible.
