Love the shared fairways! Not to knock the forest holes, but I think I'd be tempted to play it 1, 2 then 12-18. Too bad nine hole courses aren't in vogue.

Thanks for posting the map. The course as currently designed crosses a fairly busy road (Old Island Highway) and rail tracks which aren't very busy. There is an article in the current Comox Valley Echo about the developers wanting to change the routing so that more holes are on the other side of the road... guessing away from the water.
