NCAA Regional Fields Announced, Let The Analysis Not Begin

The beauty of college golf is summed up in the announcement of the men's regional fields on Morning Drive today (which followed up last week's women's regionals announcement). Even more revealing is the lack of analysis that followed. Oh sure, we may see a few stories here or there on a team or individual slighted, but the way into the regionals is based on head-to-head play and once the teams make it there, the NCAA's are all about posting the lowest scores. There just isn't much to say about who or who might have an advantage at which regionals because they're all pretty good.

That's not particularly sexy, but that's college golf.

Ryan Herrington with the easy to access breakdown of each region and the individuals invited. Top seeds went to Alabama, Georgia Tech, Stanford, California, Oklahoma State and Georgia.

The regionals are played May 15-17 and the finals at Perry and Press Maxwell's Prairie Dunes, May 26-28 where Golf Channel will show the final round of the individual competition and all three rounds of the team match play whcih determines the champion.
