DiMarco: Tiger Had No Back Injury At Torrey, Just Embarrassed

Chris DiMarco, who battled Tiger at the Masters and has always professed his admiration for Woods, couldn't help but say what he (and most of Tiger's peers) really thought on a Golf Channel conference call to promote the network's Masters coverage.

The topic was Tiger's supposed back issues at Torrey Pines, which resembled his Firestone walk-off in that he didn't give any consideration to visiting the PGA Tour fitness trailer for help with the pain. Why not when you can sit on your plane and let things really tighten up!

Tod Leonard reports:

“I think the reason he WD’d in San Diego is there was no back problem; he was embarrassed to be out there. He wasn’t doing anything good, and I think there was something wrong and he couldn’t take care of it,” DiMarco said on a conference call to promote the Golf Channel’s coverage of next week’s Masters.
