Video: Jordan Invites Spelling Bee Champ To Bethpage

You may recall that one of last week's Scripps National Spelling Bee co-champs put Jordan Spieth down as his inspiration.

Jairam Hathwar first appeared on Morning Drive and was asked by Lauren Thompson to spell the names of Bryson DeChambeau and Ariya Jutanugarn, with Jairam nailing Bryson's name but clarifying that the spelling bee is only about dictionary words and that he's not been watching the LPGA. You go Jairam!

Jairam then appared along with fellow winner Nihar Janga on “Live with Kelly” on Wednesday and explained his admiration for Spieth.

“He’s only 21 years old and he’s taking on these veterans and showing that it doesn’t matter how old you are, you can still … put in the effort and do well,” said Hathwar.

Yes he's 22, but the point is stellar. And as I noted last week, it would be cool if someone showed Spieth Jairam's showdown with Nihar. And apparently it happened as Kelly surprised Jairam with an invite from Jordan to The Barclays to meet his hero. Pretty sweet!
