When you come to think of it that is the secret of most of the great holes all over the world. They all have some kind of a twist. C.B. MACDONALD
Sunday's Final Round Open Comment Threads
/Robert Karlson is peaking at the right time for the U.S. Open, leading in Memphis.
Yani Tseng (who else) is leading the LPGA event in Springfield.
And Bob Tway is trying to win on the Champions Tour for the first time.
Oh and the U.S. Open week fun starts Monday. I'll be reporting to you live from there with some first impressions of the course Monday afternoon and evening.
Woman Qualifies For Canadian Tour!
/Thanks to reader Bob for this Score Golf item on Isabelle Beisiegal, a 32-year-old Montreal native who qualified in the the Canadian Tour's Spring Qualifying School. This makes her the first woman to successfully earn status on a men's professional golf tour.
On the back nine Isabelle would make bogeys on eleven and twelve and sit four over par for the day with six holes left to play. She then birdied the par 5 thirteenth before a stubbed chip from off the green at fourteen lead to another bogey. She would make another birdie on the short par 4 15th, but here drive on 16 found the water off the tee and lead to another bogey.
Her tee ball on the par 3 17th left her with a six-foot put for birdie which she would go onto make, and then ground out an up and down par on the eighteenth hole which gave her a fourth round score of 75, and a tournament total of 296 (+8) which would be good enough to earn the last non-exempt card.
"I went into today just trying not to get ahead of myself. I focused on thinking about where I was and not what could happen. I was assured in the fact that no matter what happened it was going to be ok."
"The poor guy who runs the dorms, he's never seen so many women."
/Match Play Sunday, Colonial Open Thread
/Poulter and Donald are in the finale in Spain, they've a nice final foursome at the Sybase and Colonial has gotten more interesting. And I'm sure the only thing anyone will want to talk about is Ian Poulter falling and losing his diamond encrusted ball marker.
Me, I'm just forwarding through the telecast to see...if we can figure out what happened to the marker. Ian declared himself "alright," but only after checking to see if his pants had been stained. We wouldn't have him any other way.
"She is in a soft cast and back with her family."

/Phil Mickelson's 63 couldn't have come at a better time and while it'll be fun to see what he does Sunday, he's vaulted himself back onto the Masters favorites list after a mediocre start to the year. But it's the LPGA's first major of the year that has the potential for a fantastic finish with World No. 1 Yani Tseng taking the lead over Stacy Lewis, with Morgan Pressel and Michelle Wie lurking just enough that things could get interesting if someone goes low.

LPGA Gives A Two-Shot Penalty For Slow Play!
/One Of Golf's Most Fascinating Short Par-4's Debuts Thursday!
/Fascinating because it should encircled with a giant Ground Under Repair line.
I finally studied the morphing of the Eisenhower and Zaharias courses at Industry Hills for the LPGA's KIA Classic and to my shock, they are playing quite possibly the worst par-4 in southern California and maybe all of Earth: the infamous ninth of the Zaharias, which I believe is the 10th on this week's Eisenharias layout.
I think the aerial speaks for itself, but if this Google Earth view of the 308-yard ninth doesn't excite the senses, let me help with a few details.
It begins with a magical walk down an asphalt path from the eighth green. At the tee the player will find not one, but four protective screens to guard the neighboring houses from a snap hook. The difficult-to-locate landing area offers neither strategic angles of attack nor spectating room on this coin pocket of the former landfill's mountainside. Good luck this week, ladies!
