Report: Bivens Buy Out Negotiations Commence; Replacement Search Already Underway

Just as she received a vote of confidence from two Hall of Famers as Garry Smits reports, Sports Business Daily says that buyout talks have begun and a headhunter is already making calls to potential LPGA Commissioner replacements. Here's an AP summary of the SBD story for those who are not subscribers.

Now we'll really see how shrewd a negotiator she is.

I want to completely screw my job and still get bought out. Ladies, I am available to take over as commissioner. My fees are reasonable; I'm married, so I won't try to date all of you like the last Commissioner...

Condi Rice on the way....

Yeah, that's the ticket. Condi Rice, seeing as how she did such a great job as National Security Advisor: 9/11 (CIA Daily Brief "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" was just a rehash of historical material), WMD in Iraq ("Why We Know Iraq is Lying" NYT 01/23/03), Enhanced Interrogation ("I didn't authorize anything. I conveyed the authorization of the administration to the agency that they had policy authorization, subject to the Justice Department's clearance. That's what I did.")...On second thought, maybe she is the right person for the job since she clearly speaks gibberish quite well.

Anyway, I nominate "The O" because his reasoning is impeccable. Or Judy Rankin, if she can be convinced.
i second ky's nominations. both of them.

I am honored to have your support. Is either of Christie Kerr or Mogran Pressel, by chance? No? Damn.

For a guy who doesn't watch the LPGA a whole lot (job, family, playing golf), I really want to see a vibrant LPGA. I have a daughter who I would like to play golf as I did, and it helps if kids have role models. There aren't many women's sports with professional leagues that are viable (Tennis, WNBA are the only two that really come to mind), so I hopefull the LPGA will recover.

Rankin would work. I wonder if Annika would take it, being retired and all. She has the cred among the players and bankable name recognition for the sponsors. So, of course it won't happen.

Expect no resignation/buy out announcement until Open is over. Then, bring on Dottie Pepper!

Whoever it is I would force them to speak English or they get a suspension!

Louise Suggs and Carol Mann? Do they even know what day it is?
