"We are getting back into it"

Uh, who is Sergio Garcia referring to in this quote from his press conference today, and published in this wire story on round one at The Barclays?

Garcia took another important step toward recovering from a troublesome season Thursday with a 6-under 65 at Liberty National for a share of the lead with Paul Goydos and Steve Marino.

"We are getting back into it," Garcia said. "Last week was nice. It was good to see ourselves ... getting that feeling of being out there trying to win a tournament and getting the juices flowing a little bit. We're just looking forward to hopefully finishing the year well here, keep this good momentum going."

Is there more than one Sergio? Does he have a pit crew?

Umm yea, I used to talk about myself in 3rd person too after I broke up with a girl.

Instead of the "royal we" Sergio may be acknowledging the contributions of caddy, coach/father, mental coach?, trainer?, agent? .....

While he is the only one swinging the club, he and the other players do not do it alone.

So George I'll put you down for pit crew.

OK, but not Sergio's pit.
He is too young for me.
Perhaps Vijay Singh's crew?
The older he gets, the more I like him.

Caddie: "We made five 3s in a row, then he doubled six"

Say no more..

a lot of dudes refer to themselves and caddy as a team. its a bit of respect for the caddy, more than anything i think... working toward a common goal.

I think he's referring to the band of pixies that follows him around the golf course. You know, the ones that screwed him over on that 72nd hole putt at Carnoustie and in the ensuing playoff? I mean, some guys hit the pin and ball stops stone dead. Sergio? The pixies kicked his ball forty feet away! Sergio was right: some guys have all the luck (and pixies) on their side. Good to see he and they are friends again.

Only three kinds of people are permitted to refer to themselves in the first person plural: royalty, editors, and people with tapeworms.

When Sergio takes the pipe again this weekend, just as he did last weekend, I wonder if he will blame the "WE" that are getiing back into it.

Just he and the monkey.

I guess Sergio is now over being dumped by Greg Norman's daughter.

Add to the list "JIMMY" from Seinfeld

Whatever he meant by "we," after Friday's round it looks like "we" blew up after taking the lead in a tournament (like we usually do).

Cue up Tom Pettys "Free Falling" for Sergio.
