So Much For The Return Of The Push Cart?

Just when we thought he push cart was generating excitement and getting people to walk more, Vladislav Savov of Engadget introduces us to the "Mantys Golf Caddy." It's sort of a pull cart meets Segway in the vein of a golf cart. Thanks to reader Kevin for this.

Watching that video...makes me dizzy!

Bugger the fancy buggy, where can I get a pair of those shorts?
09.24.2009 | Unregistered CommenterPickworth
Now, that's what I'm talkin' about! Purple shirt, plaid shorts, dark socks, really cool shades, and a golf swing to match!
Hipsters. Everywhere I go these days... nothing but hipsters.

Considering I see about two Segways a year I don't think the Manty is going to catch on.

I can see major train wrecks...I can see old people careening down steep slopes into water hazards...I can see broken bones...I can see class action law suits...carnage at The Villages.

As lazy as golf gets...and how about that fashion statement ! Going nowhere...but Dubai perhaps...with the covered version.

I have seen these at Kirland in Arizona.

Beau knows fat pitch shots.

So, basically, you stand in one spot for 5 hours. Then, when the course is busy, you have to get off of your cart to sit down.

I think Geoff's just trollin' us. That can't be real.

Ya'll see them little bitty wheels? They work great on a 25lb golf bag, but just put some lardbutt ex-skateboarder on a wet golf course and . . .

Jumpin' bunkers while grabbin' the board
Broken hips we cain't afford
Everbody wants a piece of golf
My eggs and grits, I'm about to cough . . . up

Must be at Merion...Beau didn't replace his divot.

Obviously, the gross fashion mistake is making nobody take this thing seriously. But it does beat the regular two-person cart, which contributes horribly to slow play.

Yeah, I don't know how well the Mantys is going to do. However, I did have the opportunity to ride this:

It's along the same lines...fun to ride but you really don't want your friends to see you on one...wait, that sounds familiar.

Pete,

I love my golf bag and all its contents, but I am not going to mount it and parade around town.

Okay, Tighthead, you've killed me.

At least I now know what to put on my Christmas list next year. . . Santa I want a turf chopper.

I hate carts, would prefer to walk, but I have gone through 7 ankle operations. Something like this thing or the Segway may be in my future.
Beau should take his cash and work on that sorry azz golf swing.

There is a regular at Poppy Hills who uses the Segway shown in the video. I don't know how he gets it to the course.

I can't think of a single golfer I know who'd want to buy one of these, and I know guys who've bought some really odd contrivances.
09.25.2009 | Unregistered CommenterF. X. Flinn
Tried one of these in Spain-effing dangerous!
Worse than a face off between PC and Monty!

I wonder how the Manty and some orange whips go together?
