Monty Laying Groundwork To Keep Ollie Away From His Ryder Cup!

Monty's determination to keep Jose Maria Olazabal away from this year's Ryder Cup seems to be on course as the large one is now suggesting that Olazabal's injury is preventing him from getting to see this year's possible combatants up close.

Derek Lawrenson reports:

Still no date has been set for Ollie’s comeback due to his ongoing battle with chronic rheumatism, leaving Monty to muse: ‘It is important my assistants are tour regulars and know the players’ strengths and weaknesses, so time is sadly running out for him in that regard.’

If Olazabal is missing, one man who will not be happy is Paul Casey. ‘Ollie doesn’t need to see people week in, week out to be a brilliant influence,’ he argued.
