Reminder: Live Blog Starts At 4 P.M. EDT

That's the start of the ESPN telecast and 1 P.M. Pacific. Please come by, the Cover It Live format was great fun last year and I've embedded many Twitter feeds to keep it lively. I'll be contributing as much as I can while also doing my work monitoring the telecast as part of my duties for Golf World this week.

I'll kick things off by complaining on behalf of all golf fans outside of the USA....masters.org continues to block their live video to the rest of the world. No Amen Corner Live, no Par 3 contest, no Featured group. OK, they are shielding us from Bobby Clampett and his Chinamen comments, but apart from that, I don't understand the move.

Considering that ANGC continually talks about their role as stewards of the game
Considering that ANGC contributes lots of money to promote golf
Considering that ANGC goes out of it's way to invite foreign players and cultivate foreign audiences
Considering that ANGC vales doing things their way over getting top dollar for broadcast rights

Can't they tell foreign broadcast partners that the internet video streams will be open globally just as in the US, and if they don't like it ANGC will find another media outlet in their country? Would anyone walk away from broadcasting The Masters over this? I really can't understand why they continue to shut us out.

Nothing but Ye Olde Spinning Wheel on Firefox, Safari and Explorer for coverage from Masters.com. Never had a problem in past years other than the warning that they would kick you off to make sure you were still there.

Anybody else having a problem?

This is silly how ESPN is handling but slowly nipping away at it one day in next decade or so Augusta may expand live coverage on TV. It might spare us Andy North and Scott van Pelt.

If get a long rain delay and wash out play, gotta start early early Friday I wonder if ESPN might be allowed to show that? The USGA and NBC certainly did or have, at Pebble in 2000 most memorably. The world as we know it didn't end or change, as I recall.

Didn't we decide last year that broadcast rights are at play in the feed being available (or not) outside of the U.S.? Maybe y'all need to blame your local carrier for not wanting the feed to compete with their coverage?
