All Options On The Table To Finish The Barclays

Brendan Prunty is reporting that one Hurricane Irene-induced possibility for the Barclays is a 36-hole Saturday finish, assuming the weather cooperates at already-drenched Plainfield between now and then.

Citing tournament director Peter Mele:

Among the scenarios where The Barclays could play a full, 72-hole event would be:
    •    A 36-hole final on Saturday.
    •    Playing Saturday's third round and as much of the fourth round as possible and finishing up on Monday.
    •    Playing a full third round on Saturday and then getting in as much play as possible on Sunday, if the storm were to stall and finish on either Monday or Tuesday.
    •    Finishing on Monday and/or Tuesday depending on the weather and the condition of the golf course.

Mele did say that doing a 36-hole final on Saturday would be less of a logistical nightmare than finish on Monday or Tuesday.
