When one comes to the quality of the bunkers and other hazards we pass into realm of much dispute and argument. Primarily bunkers should be sand bunkers purely, not composed of gravel, stones or dirt. Bethpage Third Green Renovation Project?

From a concerned reader:

516.249.0707 is the number we call to reserve tee-times at Bethpage. When you dial that number there is a recorded message that addresses things like aeration schedule, outings, walk-up course designations,
etc...

A few minutes ago I called it to poke around for a tee time later in the week and hear...

..."effective Friday, August 12th the third green of the Black course will be moved to another location, the green is out of service".

Now, of all the things needing fixing at Bethpage, the par-3 third green would be at the bottom of the list of problem areas (15th green, 18th fairway, and the hideous bunkers should keep someone busy before the third is even looked at!).

Anyone know more about this?
