Twitter Catfight Ends In Unfollowings, No Blood Drawn In The Form Of A Block

In a nutshell, Christina Kim is headed to Q-School and understandably didn't find Brittany Lincicome's moaning about having to play the LPGA's event in Malaysia even though she did not want to.

As a result, a fascinating study in Twitter dynamics erupted as two star LPGAers were going at it, while others joined this little 21st century version of a street fight.

John Strege caught it all and documented it for posterity.

A sampling of the rich dialogue:

@Brittany1golf: @Teamfrench23 @TheChristinaKim  geez guys calm the hell down!!!! If you don't like what I say STOP following me

@TheChristinaKim: @Brittany1golf whoa, easy with the Tone! I'm just saying there are people that would love to play, and it wouldn't hurt to remember that

@Brittany1golf: @TheChristinaKim great! It's still a free country. I can say whatever I want! I don't comment to most of your post I'm just tired

@Brittany1golf: @TheChristinaKim it's not a good time to be on my case with the news we just got [the passing of LPGA rules offical Doug Brecht. And I'm sick of people lately comment on my post!

@TheChristinaKim: @Brittany1golf of course you can say whatever you want, I never said anything contradicting that fact. I believe in the first amendment too!

@TheChristinaKim: @Brittany1golf I am not getting on your case by any means. Please don't misconstrue my stating the obvious as me bashing your tweet

I'm really surprised how this was blown out of proportion. I was following along as all this back and forth was going on!
It wasn't just those two! Nicole Hage got after Brittany too, and Brittany told her to STOP following her. Brittany essentially told her that she was sorry that they did not qualify for those tournaments, but that is not her fault. Pretty much saying, if you had played better all year you wouldn't have to complain about having to go to q- school. Brittany wasn't given an invite to play, she earned it.

The only thing which surprised me about this exchange was that CK has a boyfriend..

A few months of following Brittany on Twitter made me find her pretty insufferable, and I'm glad that I stopped following.

She's lived a rather privileged life, certainly privileged enough to afford playing on the junior golf circuit, and she was born with the blessing of having a talent (golf) where she could earn a lot of money at a very early age. She's already earned $4.8 million at the age of 27, far more than the average American worker will earn in his/her lifetime. She doesn't seem to fully comprehend how blessed she is, and how hard life can be for most, even in a country as well off as America.

The tweet that made me stop following her was this one: "If TSA workers don't like their job, why don't they do something else?"

Right. Since TSA workers obviously have so many other employment options, especially ones that come with government benefits.

I'm not going to say that TSA workers are the highest quality bunch. But looking through bags all day every day, for an average salary ... most people wouldn't be too pleasant doing that. So Brittany's implication that they should all be "smiling happy" the whole time is an opinion not based in reality.

She just doesn't really seem like someone who is particularly sensitive to the reality of others' lives.

I kind of get a kick out of Christina Kim but if she took all the time she spends tweeting and devoted it to practicing she prob wouldn't be going to Q-school. LPGA certainly doesn't need publicity like this.

Know very little abt Brittany but have tons of experience w/ TSA and I hope she continues to bash away!

Not a fan of people throwing the "death" card at others. How can anyone get into a tiff with another and then halfway through--to make the other person feel really guilty--tell them to stop picking on them as they are dealing with someone's death. How bout' not responding in the first place. Obviously she's never watched Curb your Enthusiasm.

@DTP - Ripping on Christina Kim while she's struggling with injuries and depression. Classy move.
