Federer's New Agency Wants To Sign A "Leading Golfer"

Lydia Ko is off with IMG, but maybe tennis legend Roger Federer along with new partner Tony Godsick can ink someone else.

According to Christopher Clarey in the New York Times, "signing a leading golfer in the near term" is the goal of Team8, the new boutique 10-percenter operation the two have started with partial financial backing from golf nut Dirk Ziff.

“I think small is the new big,” he said. “We’re for more of a personalized approach, and you’ve seen it now with so many different athletes.”

The other investors are Ian McKinnon and the billionaire financier Dirk Ziff, the eldest of the three brothers who started Ziff Brothers Investments in 1992 after their father, William, sold his publishing interests.
