PGA Tour Making "Audacious" Bid For European Tour?

Reports in the Daily Mail and Telegraph both quote Paul Casey in noting the sad state of the European Tour and in stating that the PGA Tour has made an "audacious" bid to overtake the fledgling circuit.

James Corrigan in the Telegraph says the PGA Tour has "made an audacious bid to take over the European Tour as concerns grow among the professionals over the lack of playing and financial opportunities on the circuit which is supposedly a rival to its US equivalent."

Derek Lawrenson also uses the audacious word, saying the news comes "at a time when the game is rife with rumour about the relatively troubled state of the European version, and the ever-growing gap between the vast riches offered by its PGA Tour equivalent."

Obviously, having the PGA Tour control the entire world is not an ideal scenario, but also seeing how the European Tour sells their Ryder Cup venues to the highest bidder to prop up the tour is one of the least attractive sights in golf.
