The Empire Strikes Back: U.S. Am's All-International Final Four

Ryan Herrington tells us a little bit about the final four at Brookline, which ensures a non-American winner of the U.S. Amateur for the first time since 2009.

The two Aussies are products of Golf Australia's program (profiled in Golf World, not posted), while the Canadian and the Englishman represent the other quadrants of the empire.

Victories Friday in the quarterfinals by England's Matt Fitzpatrick (4 and 3 over Adam Ball), Canada's Corey Conners (5 and 3 over Neil Raymond) and Australia's Brady Watt (1 up over Scottie Scheffler) and Oliver Goss (5 and 3 over Brandon Matthews) ensured the all-international Final Four on grounds made hallowed by monumental performances from American golfers.

You can follow the matches here. NBC televises from 4-6 pm ET.

So for the 100th anniversary of Ouimet putting America on the golf map against those pesky Brits, this is what happens at Brookline?

When I had my day long IV treatment in Austin this past Thursday, Mark Hamill's mother was also getting treated, all day, as I. The force must work...she has had cancer for over 30 years, and gets chemo 3 times a year. She was very nice, but had I known how this ''Empire'' deal was gonna go at the AM, I might have asked her for a little help!

Kerr is still barking at her golf ball like a baying friggin dog - worse then mashed potatos.

The kids get it up and down from anywhere and everywhere. Very impressive, fun to watch.
