How Will The Southern Ice Storms Impact The Majors?

With nine traffic deaths and a half-million homes without power according to this report, the turfgrass concerns of Augusta National and 2014 U.S. Open host Pinehurst pale in comparison.

Still, looking at the images out of Pinehurst and Augusta (of Magnolia Lane), does prompt questions of what this will mean agronomically for the first two majors of 2014. The Masters is less than two months away, whereas Pinehurst--which is in incredible condition already--has until June.

If nothing else, hopefully Augusta National will not pile those ice storm damaged limbs too close to play, for Ernie's sake.
