Dubuisson Playing For PGA Tour Status Sunday, Prompting Announcer Fears Of Accurate Name Pronunciation Crackdown

By my count there have been five diverse-yet-entertaining pronunciations of Victor Dubuisson's name during Sunday's WGC Accenture Match Play semi-finals. And we still have the CBS broadcast to go! Let me know if I'm missing one:

Doobie-san (Rich Lerner, also working in a more accurate pronunciation)
Dew-bwee-SAN (Nick Faldo,
Dew-bee-san (Peter Oosterhuis)
Dubuisson (Phil Parkin, who listened in French class)
Doo-ba-son (Curt Byrum)

Either way, Dubuisson may be playing in America a lot more if he can finish third or better Sunday.

Rex Hoggard reports.

“I’ve been dreaming about (joining the Tour),” he said.

According to Tour regulations, Dubuisson would have 60 days to claim his special status and with it the ability to accept unlimited sponsor exemptions with an eye toward securing a full Tour card.

Dubuisson is scheduled to play the WGC-Cadillac Championship in two weeks and according to his manager might add more U.S. stops depending on how Sunday goes.
