Tiger Back Update: There Really Isn't One

I did learn some new shorthand (anti-inflams) but not much else, as Tiger promoted the Quicken Loans National where the Woods Foundation benefits.

He first spoke to Damon Hack on Morning Drive, which, if nothing else, would mark a major turning point in his Golf Channel interview boycott. Rex Hoggard summed up the interview and the mention of the tedious nature of the recovery.

Bob Harig interpreted the remarks to all but officially rule out the U.S. Open since Woods isn't hitting full shots.

Here's is Tiger's Quickie news conference featuring a good question at the 15:50 mark asking if his workout program will change.

Shocking he would talk to Hack first

If I'm Tiger, I'm forgetting 2014 and start targeting April, 2015.

Forget the RC or anything else this year, making a run at Jack's record is the only thing that matters.

Outside of "I'm a Buddhist," has the guy ever said anything we didn't know he was gonna say?

It's playoff hockey season. Maybe he can adopt that sport's vague injury report and say he's off indefinitely with a "lower body injury". That might constitute too much ammo for the snarky crowd, now that I mention it...

Tlavin, technically it would be "upper body."

Go Hawks!

I just have to say how much I appreciate Geoff Shackelford's reviewing Tiger Woods press conferences for the few worthwhile bits, and providing those cues, so that I don't have to watch the whole thing.

There might be many candidates for the best interview in golf; can anyone come close to Tiger Woods as the worst interview in golf?

@Sari - the lower spine is not upper body by any anatomical chicanery. Trunk, torso? I can buy into such subterfuge (at which a certain someone's camp is rather adept)

tlavin - even I think it would be witty if Woody said that...but of course he never says anything spontaneous so never mind

GolfFan:

All i know is that when Hossa had his disk problem last year in the SCF, they characterized his injury as "upper body." I guess everything above the waist is considered "upper body" in the NHL?
