None Of Boston's Top Courses In Olympic Discussion

Even though it was the only bid met by protests and is vowing to be privately funded to the tune of billions, Boston was the USOC's choice for a 2024 Olympic bid where the United States has a decent chance of landing the games. (AP's report.)

Already, the Boston Globe is questioning whether the city wants to go forward with the bid. And only a few more details have leaked out, but the golf course venue remains Franklin Park, which needs a major renovation. Courses such as The Country Club and TPC Boston have not been mentioned.

The Globe's editorial board does have this to say about the golf:

Walsh said potential Olympic venues like Boston Common and the golf course at Franklin Park would also see an upgrade if Boston hosted the games.

“Those all get restored to better than they were when we went in there,” Walsh said. “There’s really an opportunity here.”
