Fox News: "Titleist blocks customers from personalizing golf balls with 'Let's Go Brandon'"

And they wonder why Chris Wallace took a job at CNN+?

Fox News’ Andrew Mark Miller appears to have worked hard to test out Titleist’s golf ball personalization censors after an enraged customer was rejected over a “Lets Go Brandon” request. The phrase became one of the more pathetic dimwit dogwhistles of this or any generation.

When Fox News Digital attempted to personalize a Titleist Pro V1 ball on the company’s website with the phrase "Let’s Go Brandon", an error message said, "Sorry, one or more of the words you have chosen cannot be used. Please see our Terms and Conditions to learn more about what we will imprint."

On the website, part of those Terms and Conditions reads, "Acushnet Company reserves the right to reject orders for imprints on our products that may, in our sole discretion, be inconsistent with our company values or brand identity, including, but not limited to logos, designs and/or personalizations that are negative in nature, advocate violence or illegal activity, or are slurs, hateful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene or pornographic."

It is unclear which of those categories the phrase "Let’s Go Brandon" violated.

Miller goes on to share the vulgar messages he tested and did not get the same error message. Some of them are not pleasant. Still, it’s fascinating to see Fox News upset over Titleist reserving their rights as a corporation to not sell a product.

And besides, all is right with the world. The customization feature allowed me to create some important messaging:

Wally, before you get upset: I’m just combating juvenile humor with juvenile humor. That’s all! We know they’re too scared to roll it back.

Joe Biden Plays His First Golf Round As President

Screen Shot 2021-04-18 at 4.57.23 PM.png

It’ll be tough to reach Donald Trump’s 150 (or so) rounds of golf as President, but Joe Biden has his first round in the books.

According to Yahoo News’ Sebastian Smith, the round took place at Wilmington Country Club, home to the 2022 BMW Championship and where Biden joined in 2014. He was sporting a Beau Biden Foundation cap and Wilmington vest for those analyzing his fashion choices.

The Democrat's motorcade swept into the Wilmington Country Club for the unannounced outing around lunch time. Clearly surprised members of the private, upscale club paused between swings and putting to watch, some whipping out cellphones to film the spectacle.

The White House said Biden's playing partners were Ron Olivere, father-in-law of Biden's late son Beau, and senior advisor Steve Ricchetti.

This was not just the first time Biden has devoted a day to golf since taking over from Trump in January, but likely the first time many Americans realized that he plays at all.

One eye-opener when I searched Twitter for Biden and golf for photos: accounts that the President was dazed and confused according to a linked report. The site where this “report” supposedly sat? Progolfweekly.com and there was no such story posted and only one on Biden from last year.

The bots never sleep!

AP’s Jonathan Lemire Tweeted this photo of Biden and round recap from the President:

President-Elect Joe Biden's Home Course Lands Delaware's First-Ever PGA Tour Event (And It's A Playoff Stop!)

Not only will the 2022 BMW be Delaware’s first-ever PGA Tour event it’ll be staged at Wilmington Country Club, home club since 2014 of President-elect Joe Biden.

From Brian Wacker’s GolfDigest.com story on the news of Wilmington’s Robert Trent Jones-designed South Course hosting the second-playoff stop.

While this is Wilmington C.C.’s first pro tournament, the club has played host to several top amateur events since its founding in 1901. Among the notables are the 1971 U.S. Amateur, played on the Robert Trent Jones-designed South Course and won by Canada’s Gary Cowen, and the 1913 U.S. Women’s Amateur on the property’s Old Course when Gladys Ravenscroft was the champion. The 2013 Palmer Cup was also held on the South Course, with a United States team that included Justin Thomas, Daniel Berger and Patrick Rodgers.

The bit of bad news: this means the PGA Tour’s bizarre relationship with the golf-mad Chicago market continues, with 2021’s BMW at Caves Valley (Maryland) and now Wilmington in 2022. The former Western Open has mostly been played in Chicago but has moved around.
