"In closing, this statement will be my final comments on this matter as it pertains to player usage of the Ping Eye 2 wedge."

There was also this from Scott McCarron's statement yesterday:

Finally, I would like to apologize to Farmer’s Insurance and the Farmer’s Insurance Open. You put on a wonderful event and I am sorry if my comments had any negative effect on your tournament. In closing, this statement will be my final comments on this matter as it pertains to player usage of the Ping Eye 2 wedge. Please be respectful of my wishes as I am ready to get back to playing golf.

Isn't that last sentence a breach of the previous sentences' claim?
