What Are "Team Activities" Anyway?

Whenever I think the PGA Tour is taking itself a bit too seriously, there's always the NFL to remind you how ridiculous a sports league can get if it reads too many of its own clippings.

I see from Jay Busbee that Tony Romo passed on Byron Nelson qualifying to take part in the Cowboys' first day of "team activities."

It's bloody May!

Look, until Sports Illustrated publishes a "Team Activities Preview" issue (don't get any funny ideas), this is the off-season.

But I'm sure had Romo played the local qualifier instead of standing around in shorts tossing a ball for 50 reporters even though the season is nearly five months away, that his dedication would have been questioned.
