Tiger Woods will be greeted with his own beer in Wales! Thanks to reader Mel for Ciaran Jones' report:

The ale – called Tiger Would – has been created to mark the world’s top golfer’s trip to play in the tournament in Celtic Manor, Newport.

The pump clip of the new brew pokes fun at the superstar golfer’s antics away from the game by featuring a busty blonde woman holding a golf ball – a nod to the golfer’s notorious sex scandals.

The ale is the brainchild of the Vale of Glamorgan brewery.

Brewer Dave Walbeoff said the drink was meant to be taken in a good-natured way.

“If Tiger Woods saw it I would hope he would still have a sense of humour after all he has been through,” Dave said.

I'm going to guess not.

The first casks of the beer were sold this week, and Dave said there had been a lot of interest from pubs.

Only 6,000 pints of the beer – which is described as having a nutty malt flavour and a long spicy hop finish – will be made.

It will be stocked in pubs in the Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff and Newport.
