College Presidents Secretly Working Overtime To Create Golf Super Conference

Oh sure, some of you think the conference realignment nonsense is just the culimination of years of study to figure out how best to maximize geographic footprints, merge peer institutions and value proposition academics for the benefit of the student-athletes.

And a few cynics think it's all about college football TV money, but Sean Martin says accidentally or not, one heck of a golf super conference is about to be created in this thirst to serve the student-athlete.

If the Pac-16 had been in existence last season, it would’ve been home to 11 of the nation’s top 30 men’s golf teams. Nine potential Pac-16 members were in Golfweek’s preseason top 30 teams. Pac-16 schools held down five of the top eights spots in the preseason rankings – UCLA (2), Stanford (3), Texas (5), USC (7) and Oklahoma State (8).
